Episode 2 Of Dirty Car Chronicles- Go Carwash Rt. 57 Location

For this week’s Saturday’s In Syracuse, I decided to take my two year old along for the ride and went to Go Carwash in Liverpool. It’s located on Rt. 57 just a little past John Glenn if you’re heading toward Liverpool.

This week, we were moving all of our inventory from the storage unit off of Brighton Ave that we’ve been in for quite some time into our new office. BUT we are also super short-staffed including a tech that had some unexpected absences. AND a move-in clean of a McMansion that I severely underestimated how long it would take us to complete. So I was down to the last few hours we had in our storage unit, cramming everything into my car and then rushing home to get my tired toddler to bed then woke up the next morning to run to daycare drop-off and get to my clean with a car packed full of way too much.

Other than this little bump in the road, I’ve actually been following the “Carry-In, Carry-Out” rule that I set for myself which has been tremendously helping with my car cleaning issues. I also organized some of the compartments in my car and upgraded my makeup bag so it now separates my brushes from my makeup and fits under my seat. I gave in to consumerism and bought some car items from Amazon (a trash can that goes on the back of your seat and two little sets for the sides of your seat with pockets). The garbage can I forget exists (I always have a brown paper bag for garbage but it looks horrible, need to remember about the new garbage that just looks like a bag). The pocket things hold my mouthwash and skincare items that I keep in the car and I like it.

Back to the review of the Carwash! Location- meh. It’s like 20 minutes from the east side of Syracuse. Nothing right there that I need to go to often so it wouldn’t been convenient for me. Their employees were super nice. I was trying to take a video of the area you pull up to to pay and the guy was worried because I was taking so long so he came out to ask me if I needed help (which I hate being forced to interact with humans so that was actually a 0/10 for me however I understand this was a nice thing to do and most humans would appreciate it). The actual car wash itself seemed longer than the one I usually go to over by the mall (I paid the extra $3 for the undercarriage wash but I do at the other location too). They do have free vacuums available after the Carwash. An area for towels but no towels. Half of the vacuums were not there. The trash cans were all completely full of trash. The vacuum did seem to work well and there was no trash on the ground.

If I had to choose between this location and the Valet Auto Wash from last week, I’d choose last week’s. I’ll take a grumpy staff-person who doesn’t speak to me over a friendly one who forces me into conversation any day and the option of vacuuming the inside of my car in a heated building is unparalleled. But I’m excited to see if I can find another wash for next week that beats Valet Auto for me. And to see if, now that we’re fully moved into the office, I’ll be able to stay on top of a clean car throughout the week. Clean car, clean mind.
