We could write an entire post on all of the many uses for Pine Sol but for this one, we are answering a question that gets asked to us quite often: What is the best option for cleaning wood floors? Here at Syracuse Cleaning Services, we choose to use Pine Sol as our go-to wood cleaning option.
In going through the different options for a wood cleaner, we needed something versatile that would be safe for all wood surfaces, including those finished with polyurethane as well as those that are unfinished (for example, we cleaned a beautiful A-frame cabin in the mountains of LaFayette with unfinished wood in parts of the home). A lot of cleaners claimed to be safe for all wood surfaces but we didn’t want to mess around with anything that wasn’t tried and tested by many professionals before us.
At the very beginning of the company, we opted to use Swiffer Wet Jets with their wood-specific pads and wood-specific cleaner. While this option was convenient and nice to see the job getting done right as you could see if a pad was still picking up dirt and grime or not, when you’re cleaning 10+ homes in a day and typically half of them have wood surfaces of some kind, the waste of all of those wetjet pads adds up.
That was when we decided to switch to a mop system. We wanted something that was versatile so we could use it on tubs, walls and the floor by simply changing out the head of the mop (more on that in a later post) and Pine Sol came highly recommended as the best option for wood surfaces from multiple cleaning mentors we asked during the decision-making process.
Why Pine Sol? A few reasons. It’s safe for all surfaces. It has disinfectant properties so it isn’t just cleaning the floors but is also killing germs which is especially helpful during a pandemic. It smells amazing. It removes stains very well and has very simple instructions. And, possibly best of all, it deters bugs as well as pet’s from peeing (thanks, pine).
